George Osbourne has delivered his 2011 budget which includes increasing the personal tax allowance and cutting fuel duty by 1p a litre. Did you think it was a good budget? Do you think the government are managing the economy well? Is there anything that you would have liked to seen included?
I don't know why we are sucking up to Pakistan and giving them money which would be better spent here in Britain, but with regards to the bail-outs for Ireland, Greece & now Portugalwe can thank the previous Chancellor, Labour's Darling who committed this country to any bailouts until 2013.

There is never any logic to our politicians.

I find an irony that Osbourne should state that Labour left us broke and massive cuts are needed to pull us back from the brink and yet he found £6-8 billion for Ireland £5 billion for Greece and now £7 billion for Portugal on top of which hes giving £670 million to Pakistan, firing off rockets in Libya at god knows how much, truthfully i don't see the logic!!!

Politicians ..too far removed from normality and not removed far enough from normality (if you catch my drift?).

Budgets have never made much difference to me. Having never been in the top tax bracket or earning massive wages. And they still don't now I am a pensioner. Accept whats given. because I can't change it.
As for do I think the government is handling things well, the answer I'm afraid is not very. I know the Labour lot left things in a bad way, but still think this government hasn't got to grips with things they should have.
Lets face it most of the ministers are very wealthy people, so have no understanding of how we normal mortals manage our everyday finances etc.

The increase in personal allowance is not proportionate for seniors. Cutting fuel duty does not mean that the price of fuel will go down,UNLESS the greedy fuel companies lower their prices. Everybody will find some reason good, bad or stupid not to pass on the cut in fuel duty small though it was. I think until we have got this silly AV referendum out of the way this government does not really know which way is up. If the vote goes against the Lib-Dems I suspect they'll go off and sulk.
