It’s awards season for the movie industry, with the Oscars and recently the BAFTAs. Are you more likely to go and see a film if it has won an award? Will you go to the cinema to watch an award-winning film rather than wait for the DVD or for it to be shown on TV?
I'm afraid that we wait for the DVD. Purely because our local cinema is situated between a number of pubs and there can be trouble late at night. There was a fight in progress when we exited the cinema last time and it put us off going.

We rarely go to the cinema as it's so overpriced and our cinema is very dated with very uncomfortable, cramped seating. However,I do still see it as a bit of a treat.
Contrary to previous views on the Oscars,I love to watch the whole thing.I love the dressing up and swanning around..it's fantasy land for me.

A film winnng loads of awards tends to put me off seeing it! Used to go to the cinema often at one time, now very rare. Pre record the odd one, but can't say I'm too interested these days.
Don't watch any of the awards, but do like to see what the female stars have worn. And think sometimes, they must have had their eyes closed when selecting what to wear!

I like going out to the cinema but i abhor the prancing, preening and publicity that surrounds these ceremonies and they don't influence the films i go to see.

I don't go to the cinema, have no real interest in awards [other than as potential quiz questions], they are usually just an excuse for the 'luvvies' to indulge in mutual back-slapping and gushing. Besides the type of films I like rarely win awards (Lord of the Rings being a notable exception) & those that do win don't usually appeal to me.
I will also wait until DVDs have been out for a while and gone down in price before I'll consider buying them.
